Carstens at ISU: 2001 ... Honored as the team’s defensive co-MVP and outstanding defensive lineman at the Cyclone football awards banquet ... earned third-team all-Big 12 honors from the coaches and was an honorable mention all-Big 12 selection by the Associated Press ... named ISU defensive MVP vs. Nebraska, Texas A&M and Kansas State ... notched six tackles, including two solo stops and one sack versus Alabama in the Independence Bowl ... had 81 tackles (fourth on the team), including a career-high 16 stops against Kansas State ... led ISU with eight tackles at Kansas ... had nine tackles and a recovered fumble against Colorado, eight stops against Baylor and made 10 tackles in season finale against Iowa ... had four solos and three assists at Texas A&M, including a sack ... 2000 ...
