| Biography: |
| 2005: An aggressive backup who played in all 12 games in 2004 at linebacker and on special teams, Derry took snaps at quick end during the spring but is expected to be Aaron Harris' primary backup at MLB in 2005. Tallied 21 tackles and a sack last season as a second-string linebacker. Derry earned first-team Academic All-Big 12 honors in 2004 for his work on and off the field. The linebacker began the 2004 season with three tackles against North Texas and followed with five tackles versus Rice after redshirting in 2003.
2004: After putting up incredible tackle numbers and earning 5A all-state honors as a high schooler (500-plus stops in three seasons!), Derry redshirted as a true freshman in '03. His solid play the spring as Aaron Harris' backup, though, has him poised to contribute this fall at MLB as a redshirt freshman.
HS: A hard-nosed, sideline to sideline middle linebacker who has a tremendous work ethic.
