Texas Rides The Wave, 49-0 Premium Story

Hurricane Isidore drenched the Louisiana coastline Thursday, but the perfect storm that hit the Louisiana Superdome Saturday came in the form of Texas’ defense and big play special teams, blowing open a relatively close game at halftime en route to a 49-0 soaking of host Tulane. The Longhorn offense, behind QB Chris Simms' 17-of-31 for 176 yards (two touchdowns, one interception), was in the doldrums throughout most of the contest despite the deceivingly lopsided scored.
