Freshman Tackle Johnson Expected Back Aug. 8

Multiple sources have told Burnt Orange Beat that freshman defensive tackle and expected contributor on this season’s defense, Derek Johnson, has left Austin and returned to his native Arkansas for personal reasons. The team expects him to return to Austin on August 8, when players check in for Fall. Follow this story in the Horns House message board!

Multiple sources, including the University Sports Information Office, have confirmed that freshman defensive tackle Derek Johnson left Austin to return to his home in Arkansas for personal reasons.

Johnson originally moved to Austin in early June for summer session one.
