Spring Westfield defensive tackle Desmond Jackson is one of the top sophomores in the state of Texas. The 6-1, 274-pounder was the 13-5A Newcomer of the Year in 2008 and college programs have taken notice. Burnt Orange Beat was at his high school and spoke with Jackson after practice.

Desmond Jackson was thrust into a starting role for the always talented Spring Westfield Mustangs in 2008.
