When you drive up to Garland High, it is hard to miss the steep tradition of winning. Garland has four state titles and 27 district titles in football. Lining the halls of the field house are pictures of former Garland players that went on to play college ball. Burnt Orange Beat has pictures of some older Longhorns like Herkie Walls and two of the eleven verbal commitments for the 2010 class.

When Tevin Jackson and Adrian Phillips of Garland came down to Austin and committed to Mack Brown and the Texas Longhorns, it should have been no big surprise. Garland has treated the Longhorns well over the years, including current Longhorn wide receiver Malcolm Williams. National Champion kicker Richmond McGee also called Garland High School home.
