Anticipated 'Q' package had quiet debut

Texas fans, did you notice the Q package last Saturday? As promised throughout August, the Longhorns did officially premiere the series of offensive plays that have starting quarterback Colt McCoy on the field at the same time with his backup, John Chiles. But the extent of the package was four plays out of the 81 run by the Longhorns offense.

James Brown, two coordinators fill out Lamar football staff

By adding two coordinators and one local legend, Ray Woodard has completed his coaching staff at Lamar University. First, the local legend. James Brown is back in town. The former West Brook standout and University of Texas quarterback was introduced at Lamar on Wednesday afternoon, grabbing his first job on a college coaching staff. He will serve as an offensive assistant, with position duties to be determined later.
