Texas About to Offer A&M Commit?

Fall was quiet on the recruiting front for Texas, but things are starting to pick up again as the Longhorns look to fill a number of spots before signing day. Houston Eisenhower DT Roderick Davis is still a soft verbal to Texas A&M, but Texas has crept their way into his top five. Will Davis get a UT offer and will he take an official visit to Austin?

Has Texas offered Roderick Davis a scholarship?

"They will, I believe, when I go on my visit," Davis said.

Davis has set up his official visit to Austin for the 18th of January. He is being recruited by Oscar Giles. Davis is still considering Texas A&M, Texas, Florida, USC and California. He doesn't have a leader at this time, but he did shed some light on what he likes about the Longhorns.

"It's always a dream of mine to be a Longhorn," Davis said. "Since they have started coming back around, I've been thinking about it. I'm going to give them a shot."

When did Texas get into the race for the big defensive tackle?

"Right towards the end of senior year," Davis said.
