Texas ran the football and ran it with authority against Nebraska, racking 364 on the ground, with…
Upon Further Review...
Offense: Texas scored 25 straight points at one point in the second half, and finished the game with a whopping 545 yards of total offense, including 364 yards of rushing.
Charting McCoy: Colt McCoy completed 12 of 28 passes for 181 yards, no touchdowns and one interception. His season numbers are 197 of 303 for 2,350 yards. Entering the game, McCoy had strung together nine consecutive games of 200 yards or more passing. McCoy also entered the game tied with Vince Young with 44 career touchdown passes. McCoy once again made plays with his feet – he rushed for 55 yards on 11 carries.
Nebraska offense: Nebraska had a trio of players compile impressive numbers in the loss. Sam Keller completed 23 of 35 passes for 298 yards, no interceptions and a pair of touchdowns to Nate Swift, who also had a nice game: six catches for 112 yards. Running back Marlon Lucky would've been the leading rusher in a normal game – he carried the ball 24 times for 111 yards. Keller left the game late in the fourth quarter with what appeared to be a shoulder injury.
Brown reaches century mark: Mack Brown became the second coach in Texas history to win 100 games for the Longhorns with the win against Nebraska. Brown's record at Texas is now 100-24. Darrell Royal is the winningest coach in Texas history with 167 victories.
The Cosby Show: Receiver Quan Cosby posted some outstanding numbers against Nebraska: five catches for 113 yards. His season numbers are 46 catches for 472 yards and three touchdowns. His career numbers are 106 catches for 1,267 yards and seven touchdowns.
Nate Jones: Jones finished the game with four catches for 33 yards, moving his season totals to 53 catches for 585 yards.
Finley was timely: Jermichael Finley caught only two balls for 25 yards, but one was huge: it was a first-down pickup on a pass from McCoy late in the game and required a rather Herculean effort as he stretched for the first down to keep the Texas drive alive. His season totals are 30 catches for 421 yards and one touchdown.
Bailey's day: Kicker Ryan Bailey kicked field goals of 47 and 49 in the third period, and knocked home a 38-yarder in the first period. He also missed a field goal in the game, but stretched his consecutive PAT total to 46.
Miscellaneous: Texas has never lost a regular season game to Nebraska since the inception of the Big 12…The 545 yards of total offense surpassed the 503 yards Texas produced against the Huskers in the 1996 Big 12 Championship Game.
