Ashcraft Talks Recruiting Visits

By this time, just about everyone following recruiting has heard of Thomas Ashcraft. The Cedar Hill product has already received eight scholarship offers and was recently named part of the 2009 National Top 100. Ashcraft has been pretty busy over the last couple of weeks taking several unofficial visits. He talked recruiting with IT.

Cedar Hill offensive tackle Thomas Ashcraft could very well be the top offensive lineman in the state next year. He has already received offers from Nebraska, Texas Tech, Kansas State, Baylor, Houston, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma and Texas A&M. The Texas Longhorns have also been recruiting Ashcraft pretty hard and invited him to the Red River Shootout earlier this year.

"The Texas coaches invited me," Ashcraft said. "Because the game was at a neutral site, I didn't get to talk to any of the coaches, but it was a really good game. I was sitting in the middle where the fans split. The Texas fans were screaming and the Oklahoma fans were too. It was pretty wild."

Ashcraft also took a visit up to Norman earlier this year when the Sooners took on the Missouri Tigers earlier this month.

"I went to the Oklahoma and Missouri game. It was a good game too," Ashcraft said. "I got to talk to DeMarcus Granger and Duke Robinson. I also talked to coach Patten and coach Stoops."

Ashcraft denied having a favorite and said that all the schools that are showing interest are even at this point in time.

Since dropping two games in a row, Cedar Hill has gotten back on track with wins over Arlington Sam Houston and Arlington Lamar.
