Saturday evening, Texas head coach Mack Brown released a statement on Kindle, saying:
"We're aware of Sergio's situation and are disappointed anytime one of our players is accused of wrongdoing. We take a strong stance against drinking and driving and will thoroughly investigate this situation. Following the completion of the legal process, we will do what's best for The University, Sergio and the team. One thing we have really prided ourselves on in our program is our family atmosphere, and this will be handled within our family."
According to the Austin American-Statesman, Kindle was arrested at 2:35 a.m. Saturday after police stopped him for swerving lanes. He was pulled over at 1600 S. First St. He was released Saturday afternoon from Travis County Jail.
Kindle is 19 years old.
