Kyle Russell earned first-team honors as an outfielder. The rightfielder is tied for the national lead with 27 home runs and ranks fourth with an .825 slugging percentage. Russell has logged a .341 batting average, 65 runs and 70 RBI.
Russell was named the Big 12 Player of the Year and garnered first-team All-Big 12 recognition. He earned Big 12 Player of the Week honors twice in 2007 and smashed the Texas single-season home run record which was previously 20.
Adrian Alaniz earned second-team All-America honors as a starting pitcher. The right-hander ranks fourth in the nation with 12 wins. He owns a 12-2 mark on the year with 2.58 ERA and 84 strikeouts in 97.2 innings. Alaniz was named Big 12 Pitcher of the Year and earned first-team All-Big 12 honors. He was named Big 12 Pitcher of the Week on two occasions in 2007.
Texas has had multiple players named to the Louisville Slugger All-America team in five of the last six years.
