Justin Williams: Following in Bro's Footsteps

South Grand Prairie High School in Grand Prairie (Texas) produces at least one highly recruited Division I prospect every year. This year, Longhorn commit Tray Allen is the best prospect inside the state of Texas. In the class of 2006, Malcolm Williams was one of the most feared defensive prospects in the state. His little brother, Justin Williams, should be highly recruited in 2008.

Justin Williams from South Grand Prairie High School is a very strong kid with a bright future in front of him. The junior defensive end has been making noise on the football field and in the weight room since he was a freshman. Head Coach David Fisher raved about Williams and what he brings to South Grand Prairie's program.

"Justin is the younger brother of Malcolm Williams who was the 5A defensive player of the year for the whole state of Texas last year and is at Oklahoma now. He runs very well in the 4.8 range. He holds the school bench press record at 430 pounds that he broke in the ninth grade. He is a very strong kid with great mobility. He has a great motor. He runs very well for his size and plays really hard. It would be great if he was a little taller. If he was 6-foot-3 or 6-foot-4, he would be really special," Fisher said.

The 6-foot-0, 280-pound Williams plays a big role in the South Grand Prairie defense. He is already hearing from a number of Division I schools including the Texas Longhorns.

"A lot of people are showing him a lot of attention. Most people are focused on seniors right now. They won't start looking at juniors until after signing day," Fisher said. "Everybody notices him when they come through. They are well aware of his ability on the field and in the weight room when they watch film. Like I said, he comes from good genes. Being the brother of Malcolm Williams helps."

South Grand Prairie has put together a monster season so far. They are currently 8-1 and can secure a playoff birth with a win over Jesuit this Friday night.
