Red River Shootout Photo Gallery

This was one of the worst performances I've ever seen from a Texas football team. Not only did the Horns get outplayed, outexecuted and outcoached, they gave up in the second half and let OU run all over them. And don't kid yourselves, if the Sooners wanted to hang 80 on Texas yesterday, they could have.

This guy pretty much nailed it, don't you think?


Kalen Thornton actually gets a sack on this play, making it one of the few that did not end up in the UT end zone. It was also before the D pretty much decided to pack it in and escort OU players in for scores.


Sloan Thomas not only picked up a 1st down on this play, he also managed to not fumble.


Unlike our schemes on offense and defense, I think that Vince Young actually might have had Stoops & Co. a little bit concerned. Vince made some really nice plays, gaining over 100 yards with his feet and making a few nice throws. He also played like a freshman, turning the ball over three times on the day. He did not, however, fumble or throw an interception on this play.


Jejuan Rankins on his way in for the score against a UT defense that did not look prepared for what hit them.


Brodney Pool breaks up a pass intended for Roy Williams. The good news on this play was that Roy did not get hurt and Texas did not turn the ball over.


Vince young takes off downfield in the second half. This was yet another play where the Longhorn offense managed to hold onto the ball and make a first down.


The starting secondary logs a little bench time in the fourth quarter. This was right after one of the last OU scores in the game. The good news here is that with OU's offense off the field. there was a pretty good chance that the Texas offense would be able to keep the Sooners defense from scoring. In the spirit of team play, the UT offense was able to surrender a touchdown to the OU defense in the second quarter.


Mack ponders the most lopsided loss in the history of the Red River Shootout. By the way, Texas has never scored more than 50 points against Oklahoma, but has given up over 60 points to the Sooners twice in four years.
