It was total domination in all phases on Saturday night and Texas pounded Tulane 63-18 at DKR.
Cedric Benson
runs for some of his 86 yards on 18 carries. Benson ran around and through people all night long while getting solid blocking from the Texas offensive line.
Roy Williams
glides across the goal line for one of his two scores. Williams caught four passes for 84 yards.
Derrick Johnson
steams down the sideline after picking off a J.P. Losman pass in the second half. Johnson tied Tommy Nobis for second place on the all-time UT interception list for linebackers with eight career picks.
Chance Mock
shrugs off a Tulane defender in the first half. Mock was 10-16 for 145 yards and 4 TDs (3 passing and 1 rushing) and has yet to throw an interception this season.
Bret Robin replaced an injured
Selvin Young
and made the most of his opportunity by leading all Texas rushers with 87 yards on 15 carries.
Vince Young
nearly outran the entire Tulane defense on this play. Young was 4-7 for 68 yards and 1 TD through the air and added 69 yards rushing on three carries.
Sloan Thomas
takes a Chance Mock screen pass for 34 yards in the first half.
Bo Scaife
gets his first touchdown catch of the season. After being underutilized for much of the season, Scaife and
David Thomas
combined for five receptions against Tulane.
Rod Wright and
Cedric Griffin
bear down on Tulane's Mewelde Moore in the second half. Moore was able to pick up over 100 yards on the night, but the Texas defense held Tulane's 8th ranked pass offense to under 200 yards and forced J.P. Losman into three turnovers.
Cedric Benson scores the last of his three TDs agains the Green Wave.
