Mykel Jones Impressed with Texas

Mykel Jones

One of the top two-way players in the state of Louisiana for the class of 2016 is wide receiver/defensive back Mykel Jones.

Mykel Jones checks in from Patterson (LA) and is a four star wide receiver according to Scout.com. Jones holds early offers from numerous schools such as Alabama, Florida State, Houston, LSU, Penn State, Texas, UCLA and USC to name a few.

"The process is going great," Mykel Jones said. "I have lots of exposure at such a young age which motivates me to be better. The best part for me and my family has been meeting coaches and seeing how they are not only as coaches but as people in general."

So far during the evaluation period LSU, Tulane and South Alabama have visited Patterson high school. Is Texas moving up for Jones?

"Coach Strong was great when I met him and his staff," Jones said. "They all have those goals that I am really interested in that consists of winning a national championship, getting a degree and being a much better person when I walk off campus. Coach Strong will win wherever he is because of his passion for the game."
