Oklahoma State offensive line coach Joe Wickline is not a guy that seeks the limelight or any added…
Strong Lands Three Assistants
Strong tapped Alabama defensive line coach Chris Rumph as his defensive line coach, then landed USC running backs coach Tommie Robinson as the running backs coach and Memphis cornerbacks coach Chris Vaughn as his own defensive backs coach. Rumph coached the defensive line at Alabama from 2011-2013. Before that, he spent five years as defensive ends coach at Clemson, coaching players like All-American Da'Quan Bowers, who led the nation in sacks with 15.5. Rumph was outside linebackers coach at Memphis from 2003-05, just after serving his first year as a college assistant at South Carolina State in 2002, where he was defensive backs coach. Rumph is known as an outstanding recruiter, and has several top prospects to his name in this year's Alabama class. Robinson was most recently at USC, where he was passing game coordinator and running backs coach. He has a pretty varied coaching resume, coaching running backs at Utah State (1992-93), Oklahoma State (2001), Memphis (2006), Miami (2007-09) and with the Arizona Cardinals (2010-12). He coached wide receivers at TCU (1994-97) and Georgia Tech (2002), and he was an offensive assistant for wide receivers and special teams for the Dallas Cowboys from 1998-00. Robinson also coached tight ends at Georgia Tech from 2003-05. Vaughn coached cornerbacks for Memphis the last two seasons after coaching defensive backs and serving as the recruiting coordinator at Ole Miss (2008-11). Vaughn coached at Arkansas (1999-2007), coaching outside linebackers (2000-04), strong safeties (2001-03) and all safeties (2005, 2007). He was Arkansas's redactor of on-campus recruiting in 2006.
