Texas Basketball Finalizes Non-Con

The Texas basketball team has finalized its non-conference slate for the upcoming season by adding Mercer University to the top of the schedule.

The Longhorns will open with Mercer at the Frank Erwin Center on Friday, Nov. 8. That game was the final addition to Texas's non-conference schedule, though there are still a few games that have yet to be announced as part of the CBE Hall of Fame Classic.

Opponents for the CBE Regional Round — two home games at the Erwin Center in November — have yet to be announced, while the matchups for the CBE championship rounds in Kansas City will also be announced later. Texas is one of four teams in the championship rounds, meaning that the Longhorns will take on two of the other three teams in Kansas City: Wichita State, DePaul and BYU.

The Big 12 conference schedule isn't completed yet, and the Longhorns' television schedule will likely be announced sometime after the full schedule is finalized.

Texas returns five players who started at least 12 games last season, though the Longhorns are coming off a disappointing 16-18 mark.
