Kansas overwhelmed their visitors from Nashville, in an 89-60 rout of the Bruins (7-3) inside Allen Fieldhouse, in a game that wasn't nearly as close as the final score indicated.

The Jayhawks turned a 44-28 halftime lead into a blowout, growing the lead to as much as 41 in the second half in improving to 8-1.

"I thought we played pretty well," Self said. "Our defense was good. We shared the ball, for the most part. I was pleased with our defensive effort and ball movement."

Four players scored in double figures. Ben McLemore and Travis Releford each scored 17 points and brought down five rebounds. Freshman Andrew White III came off the bench to score 15 points on six of eight shooting, including three of five from three point range, playing most of the game at the power forward position.

"I've been saying we were going to do that, but we haven't done it, play him at the 4 and have him be a pick-and-pop 4," Self said. "That's what happened tonight. He made a couple of threes by doing that, and then he was aggressive after that. He can really shoot the ball."

Senior center Jeff Withey scored 14, pulled down four rebounds and blocked five shots for the Jayhawks, who will face Richmond, Tuesday night at Allen Fieldhouse, before the much anticipated showdown at Ohio State next Saturday.
