Mercer County (Ill.) vs. Althoff Catholic
The 2A battle, between Mercer County and Athloff Catholic, a game that came down to the final seconds. Mercer County pulled out a 14-7 victory. 2013 Illinois defensive tackle commitment, Merrick Jackson had a huge day -- and showed what the Illini see in the 6-foot-3, 340 pound prospect from runner-up Althoff Catholic. Jackson tallied eight solo tackles, one assisted tackle, one tackle for loss, one fumble recovery and a pass breakup.

Aurora Christian (Ill.) vs Tolono Unity
The 3A match-up between Aurora Christian and Tolono Unity, a game that Aurora Christian won 42-12, but was only a 2 point game with 8 minutes left.
Aurora Christian's offense features of trio of players headed to Northern Illinois in the fall -- running back Joel Bouagnon, defensive back Brandon Mayes and wide receiver Chad Beebe. Mayes and Bouagnon each scored two touchdowns, and rushed for 72 and 95 yards respectively. And although the wind was gusting up to 50-mph Beebe managed to haul in 3 catches for 24 yards. The duo were also the prospects that paced the Aurora Christian defense, Mayes notching a 75-yard pick six, 11 tackles and a tackle for loss. Bouagnon also totaled 11 tackles from the linebacker position and a tackle for loss.

Rochester (Ill.) vs Alleman (Ill.)
Rochester was highlighted on both sides of the ball by Wisconsin commit linebacker Garret Dooley, who recorded 98 yards rushing at running back, 73 yards receiving, an interception, ten tackles from the linebacker slot and one tackle for loss.
Add to Dooley's impressive night, Rochester quarterback Austin Green who is headed to Eastern Illinois, 136 yards rushing and 172 yards passing -- and the outcome was the 4A state title.

Montini (Ill.) vs. Morris (Ill.)
Montini captured their fourth state title in a row Saturday, beating Morris High 19-6. Montini's in was fueled by their defense, led by senior defensive end Freddy Beaugard and junior defensive end Dylan Thompson.
Beaugard, who has offers from North Dakota, Eastern Illinois and Western Michigan racked up 7 solo tackles, 2 assisted, 3 tackles for loss, three sacks and a forced fumble. Thompson racked up 6 total tackles, and half of those were tackles for loss.

Crete Monee (Ill.) vs Cary-Grove (Ill.)
Laquon Treadell led the Crete-Monee Warriors to a 33-26 win over Cary-Grove, by leading the team in rushing (93 yards on 6 carries), receiving (85 yards on 6 catches), tackles (12 -- along with Nyles Morgan and Travelle Smith each with 12), totaling two touchdowns, plus a pivotal interception which he ran back for 22 yards.
It wasn't just Treadwell that lit up the field for Crete-Monee. Junior linebacker Nyles Morgan recorded 12 tackles and two forced fumbles on the day -- to go along with some really big hits. Plus senior wide receiver Lance Lenior added a touchdown and another 67 receiving yards on 5 catches.

Glenbard West (Ill.) vs Lincoln-Way East (Ill.)
In the end, Glenbard West would top Lincoln Way-East 10-8 after a wild fourth quarter.
2014 DB Hayden Carlson made a huge impact, racking up 14 tackles, including one for loss. 2013 defensive end Ruben Dunbar also had an impressive game, with two pass breakups, a sack and 8 tackles. Their only touchdown came from Vanderbilt tight end commit Nathan Marcus on a 25-yard lob to the endzone.
8A State Championship
Glenbard North (Ill.) vs Mount Carmel (Ill.)
In an impressive defensive performance, Mount Carmel defeated Glenbard North 28-14. Mount Carmel was led by senior running back and Northern Illinois commit Draco Smith who carried the ball 7 times for 129 yards and two touchdowns.
Glenbard North was led by junior running back Justin Jackson who touched the ball 28 times for 80 yards, and scored off of a 76 yard interception return. Jackson has offers from Northwestern, Illinois, Boston College, Indiana and several others.

Mentor (Ohio) vs. Whitmer (Ohio)
It was a shootout in this state tournament semifinal with Whitmer defeating Mentor 62-34. Whitmer quarterback Nick Holley passed for two touchdowns and ran for another two with distances of 20 and 49 yards. The senior controlled the game from start to finish. Senior running back Tre Reditt-Sterrit did not play last season but made his presence felt Saturday. He finished with two touchdowns putting the game out of reach. Mentor quarterback Mitch Trubisky threw three touchdowns and rushed for another two. His senior season concluded with over 4,000 passing yards. The North Carolina commit was able to extend several plays with his feet and completed several 4th and long plays.
