When the 2012-2013 Texas basketball season starts, the Longhorns won't be criticized for having a soft non-conference schedule.

While times have yet to be finalized, and only one game has a certain TV carrier at this point — the Jimmy V Classic against Georgetown will be televised on ESPN — the opponents were announced Wednesday, and the schedule certainly has the Rick Barnes difficult touch to it, including a possible two matchups with North Carolina, one of which will take place in Austin, the game vs. Georgetown at Madison Square Garden and a date with UCLA at Reliant Stadium in Houston. The slate only has one true road game, a Dec. 22 contest at Michigan State.

Below are the games on the non-conference schedule, released Wednesday.

Nov. 9 — Fresno State

Nov. 12 — COPPIN STATE (EA Sports Maui Invitational Regional Round)

Nov. 19-21 — EA Sports Invitational (Lahaina Civic Center, Maui, Hawaii). Participating Teams: Butler, Chaminade, Illinois, Marquette, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Texas, USC

Nov. 19 — TBA

Nov. 20 — Semifinal Round

Nov. 21 — Championship Round

Nov. 27 — Sam Houston STATE

Dec. 4 — Georgetown (Madison Square Garden, New York, N.Y.)

Dec. 8 — UCLA (Reliant Stadium, Houston, Texas

Dec. 22 — AT Michigan State

Dec. 29 — Rice
