Texas To Get Visit From Top Prospect

A five-star wide receiver will visit Texas in November. Find out more inside.

If you're a Texas fan, the whereabouts of Dorial Green-Beckham, the nation's top skill-position player, have become of the utmost importance. And when Kansas State travels to Texas on Nov. 19, he'll be watching the game from the same place as many of those Longhorn fans.

Green-Beckham will make his official visit to the 40 Acres on that date, giving Texas something to be thankful for just a few days before Thanksgiving. And Scout.com National Recruiting Analyst Greg Powers said that the Texas visit is a sign that the Longhorns hold a strong position in Green-Beckham's recruitment.

"Early on in the recruiting precess, it seemed like everybody was trailing Oklahoma and Missouri, but with recent developments, it looks like Texas and Arkansas have closed the gap," Powers said. "Some people even believe that Texas and Arkansas have drawn even with the previous leaders. Missouri has seemed to struggled a bit with its quarterback situation, and the Oklahoma quarterback situation is up in the air depending on what happens with Landry Jones.

"Arkansas and Texas both have situations with young quarterbacks and young high-powered offenses," Powers said. "He could fit right in.

Powers went on to say that Green-Beckham could have a major impact as a true freshman.

"Green-Beckham could come into those programs and have a Calvin Johnson program-changing type of impact," Powers said.

As for the official visit, Powers said it was a good sign for the Longhorns.

"I'm not saying that he won't end up at Oklahoma or Missouri," Powers said. "But the gap has tightened as far as those schools are concerned."
