Davis Enjoys Texas Visit

One of the top names still left on the Longhorn recruiting board is Woodlawn (La.) defensive end/linebacker Torshiro Davis. Find out what he had to say about his recent Texas visit.

Torshiro Davis said he enjoyed his unofficial visit to the 40 Acres this past week.

"It went pretty good," Davis said. "I talked to the coaches, and my mom got a chance to meet most of the coaches. I had a good time."

Davis said he's currently evaluating schools like Texas, LSU, Alabama and Oklahoma, and is looking to visit each one. Right now, he is scheduled to attend the LSU-Alabama game in November. He said he's looking for a second family and a place where he can feel calm.

Davis said he felt that family atmosphere among the Texas coaching staff.

"I haven't really had a chance to meet with some of the Texas players yet," Davis said. "But I really like the coaches."

Davis said that opportunity would come when he made his official visit to Austin, and added that his family was still trying to decide when to officially visit his top four schools. He has, however, gotten a chance to get to know several Texas commitments, both through his time at The Opening — where Davis ran a scorching fast 4.56-second 40-yard dash — and through his recent visit, spending time with Connor Brewer and Cayleb Jones.

"I really like those guys," Davis said. "I met up with them at the concession stand and hung out with them a little bit."

Right now, Davis is focusing on his final high school season, though he recently found out that he'll be able to play an extra game before heading off to college, as Davis was selected to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio.

"I'm really excited man," Davis said. "It's a once in a lifetime experience. I just can't wait for that game."
