According to the Associated Press, Scott was arrested Monday morning near his apartment after officers responded to a call about an assault. The charge is a Class A misdemeanor, bringing a maximum of one year in jail and/or a fine up up to $4,000, if Scott is convicted.
"We're aware of the situation with Christian Scott and disappointed any time one of our players is accused of wrongdoing," Brown said. "We've talked to Christian and his family, and he has been suspended from all activities with our football team. Following the completion of the legal process, we will do what's best for the university, Christian and the team."
The 6-foot-1, 217-pound senior started 10 games a year ago.
