Abilene Cooper quarterback Clayton Nicholas was excited on Friday night. The 2012 recruit received his first offer and it was a big one.

"Texas Tech offered me," said Nicholas to Scout.com. "It's exciting, because it's a school that I have always really thought would be great to play at. It feels great."

At 6-foot-3, 205 pounds, Cooper threw for 3,003 yards and 30 touchdowns as a junior in 2010.

He is also being recruited by SMU, Houston, Texas A&M, and Rice.
