His destination? According to a source close to the recruitment, Westerman will likely exchange the No. 1 class for the No. 1 team, the Auburn Tigers.
Westerman will announce his decision on Friday at Hamilton High School, in what a press release called "a significant recruiting update," and "some breaking news on his college decision."
Westerman was considered one of the biggest coups in the Longhorn class, a mauling guard with excellent mobility for the position. The fact that the Longhorns went out-of-state for his commmitment shows just how much they thought of his talent.
But Westerman established a relationship with Auburn coach Jeff Grimes — ironically, a coach the Longhorns pursued for their open offensive line coaching job — and began to waver more in his commitment.
If Westerman does, in fact, decommit, it would leave the Longhorns with five offensive linemen in the class.
